Deliver the DeCIDe™ Cells to the Right Place

After the vaccine has been made and released for clinical use, treatment can begin. Each dose of BPX-101 is thawed in the clinic and administered in up to eight intradermal injections, similar to a TB test, in the lower arm, upper arm, and upper leg – locations chosen for optimal access to the lymphatic system, which the vaccine cells use to migrate to the lymph nodes.

Turn the Key at the Right Time

24 hours later, with the vaccine cells now in the lymph nodes, AP1903 is administered in a two hour intravenous infusion. Each dose of vaccine thus requires two visits to the clinic, one day apart.

Repeat

In the current clinical trial, the combination of BPX-101 and AP1903 is given six times, every other week, in order to overcome tolerance and induce a T cell immune response. A course of therapy therefore lasts about ten weeks. Patients whose disease does not progress may receive maintenance doses (boosters) every eight weeks until progression. Since the treatment is currently given only as part of a clinical trial, detailed screening is performed prior to treatment, and extensive testing is also involved throughout the study.
